ALTY head to Guiseley on Saturday afternoon (3pm) as they look to bounce back from their first league defeat since September at Nethemoor Park.
The Robins' terrific run of form was ended by a 2-0 defeat against Stockport County, and before Phil Parkinson's men take on the Hatters once again on New Year’s Day, they close an outstanding 2018 with a trip to a Guiseley side that are currently two points off the relegation zone.
Joint managers Marcus Bignot and Russ O'Neill saw their side go down to a heavy 5-1 defeat at home to Bradford (Park Avenue) on Boxing Day, so they will be looking to give their home faithful some festive cheer before the New Year.
Former Solihull Moors and Grimsby Town manager Bignot took charge alongside ex-Alfreton Town boss O'Neill in the summer following the club's relegation from the National League and have found it difficult to get the club at the right end of the table.
However, they do have several games in hand on their rivals thanks to a terrific FA Cup run that saw them knock out League Two Cambridge United and make it through to the Second Round, where they were beaten by Fleetwood Town.
Big front man Rowan Liburd has been the side's main goal threat this campaign, with the former Reading man scoring seven goals so far this campaign, whilst the likes of defender Scott Garner, midfielder Will Hatfield and striker Paul Clayton are names that many will recognise at this level.
Last time out:
The two sides played out a 1-1 draw at the J. Davidson Stadium back in August. On that day, Jordan Hulme's strike second half opener was cancelled out by an Andy Halls’ equaliser with just under 20 minutes to go.
There will be no segregation at Saturday's fixture so both sets of fans will be free to sit alongside each other.
Fans have the choice of both covered seating and a number of covered and uncovered terraced areas, though much of the seating is reserved for season ticket holders and officials.
For those travelling on the train, Nethermoor Park is only a five-minute walk from Guiseley railway station. The best route to get there is either getting a train or the Metrolink to Piccadilly and going via Leeds, where there are regular trains.
Those driving should put in the postcode LS20 9PD and there is a free car park on Netherfield Road, which is a stone's throw from the ground.
Please note that Northern Rail continue to hold strike action on Saturdays after 5pm. Please check all updated timetables when planning your travel.
