Altrincham Ladies v Wythenshawe Amateurs POSTPONED

The match this afternoon has been postponed as Wythenshawe are unable to fulfill the fixture.

This Sunday both Altrincham FC Ladies, and their Development team welcome Wythenshawe to Mersey Valley. Altrincham are looking to get back to winning ways after last weekend’s narrow 1-0 defeat to West Didsbury & Chorlton. After what has been a brilliant start to the season, the Ladies are still on top of the league after eight games played, and look to strengthen their position on top this Sunday.

Newly-promoted Wythenshawe have had a much tougher start to the season, with only one point in their opening six matches which they picked up in a 3-3 draw to Stockport County Ladies Blues three weeks ago. Last matchday they proved that they are by no means a walkover in this league, being narrowly beaten 2-1 to third-placed Warrington Wolverines.

This will be the first matchup between Altrincham FC Ladies and Wythenshawe Amateurs, and with the Development team facing Wythenshawe’s Development team at Mersey Valley right after the first-team match this Sunday, it offers a great chance to watch two matches of football for the price of none.

“We have never played Wythenshawe, as they’re newly promoted,” said boss Keith Edleston. “We don’t know what to expect from them, but we’re going to focus on playing our own game, and do what we can to achieve a good result.”

The matches kicks off at 2pm on Sunday at Mersey Valley Sports Club and google map directions can be found here. The club house will be open where food and drink will be available, and we look forward to welcoming as many of you as possible to cheer the Ladies on as they try to keep their good start to the season going.
