Altrincham v Brackley Town match preview

Email

ALTRINCHAM take on Brackley Town at The J.Davidson Stadium on Tuesday night (7:45pm) with the play-offs now firmly in sight for Phil Parkinson's men.

The Robins picked up their fourth victory in five games in the thrilling 5-3 victory over Chorley at the weekend and have the opportunity to move nine points clear of the chasing pack and ahead of a Brackley Town side that are third in the table themselves – a position which Phil Parkinson’s men are targeting themselves.

Brackley have proven very difficult to beat this season under Kevin Wilkin, conceding only 28 goals and had a similar campaign last time out where they finished third.

They lost 2-1 at Spennymoor Town in their last game and so will be looking for a response when they make the trip to Cheshire.

With this being the penultimate home game of the regular season, boss Phil Parkinson will be hoping for a strong result in front of the Robins faithful to virtually seal a play-off berth come May.

Last time out:

The last meeting between the sides came in December and saw the Robins come away with an impressive 2-1 victory.

Simon Richman gave Altrincham the lead that day six minutes before the break but Brackley quickly levelled things two minutes later through Glenn Walker.

Andy White then scored a terrific goal several minute after the restart to ensure that it was Phil Parkinson's men that came away with the victory.
