Altrincham v Chorley | Match Preview

ALTRINCHAM host Chorley at the J. Davidson Stadium on Saturday afternoon (3pm) as the Robins look to consolidate their place in the play-off positions.

With only four games remaining for the Robins, the goal of being in the post-season promotion race is within touching distance after an unbeaten run of five games on the bounce, and they will now look to finish the job.

It will however be a difficult test against a Chorley side that still have aspirations of going up as champions, and are currently one point behind leaders Stockport County after drawing their last two games.

A late penalty decision saw Jamie Vermiglio's side lose top spot in a 1-1 draw at home to AFC Telford United on Tuesday night, so they will know that it is important to get back to winning ways if they are to get that coveted one automatic promotion place in the National League North.

With the season reaching its climax, this could be an exciting time for both sets of fans so it should prove to be a very competitive game at the weekend.

Last time out:

The last meeting between the sides came in January when a very impressive Chorley performance saw them run out 4-1 winners on the day.

Max Harrop gave the Robins the lead on the day and they went in at the break 1-0 up with the chance of an impressive result on the cards.

However, the then league leaders stepped it up in the second half and a brace from Alex Newby and further goals from Josh Wilson and Courtney Meppen-Walter ensured that the Robins will be looking for revenge this time out.
