The two sides met last season at the J.Davidson Stadium with the Alex winning by 3-0 with goals from Perry Ng, Jordan Bowery & Ryan Wintle. It was a whirlwind start by David Artell's team with all 3 goals being scored in the first 15 minutes of the game.

Altrincham started training 3 weeks ago & the opening National League game against York City is 3 weeks away, so we are at the half way point in terms of preparation for the new campaign.

There will be a number of trialists involved in today's fixture & Tuesday's game at Atherton Collieries, with Phil Parkinson & Neil Sorvel planning to make decisions on remaining trialists by Wednesday.

John Johnston has returned from his honeymoon & Tom Peers has returned from holiday & work experience with his job, so both players will be available today.

Toby Mullarkey is also available today having missed the 1-0 win at Whitchurch Alport last Saturday.

Jordan Hulme should be involved this afternoon, whilst Steven Drench & Andy White are expected to return either today or on Tuesday, with the return of White being particularly welcomed by Phil Parkinson as his injury has put pressure on Shaun Densmore & Connor Hampson to play more minutes than is ideal at this point in the pre-season schedule
