Altrincham's next two Vanarama National League games, against Solihull Moors and Bromley, have been postponed after some members of the first-team squad tested positive for Covid-19.
It was felt prudent to carry out tests on the entire squad at The J.Davidson Stadium on Monday evening, in the wake of manager Phil Parkinson and defender Shaun Densmore missing Saturday's 1-1 draw at Eastleigh after each learned that someone in their circle had been infected with the virus.
The round of testing produced several positive outcomes, and, after consulting with the National League, it was decided tonight's game with Solihull and Saturday's against Bromley, both at home, should be postponed.
It is hoped the Robins will be given the all-clear to return to action in the Emirates FA Cup on the weekend of Saturday, October 24th, and this looks entirely feasible, following guidance from club doctor Rob Jackson.
A 10-day period of isolation has been advised for all positive cases from the date of onset of symptoms, or if asymptomatic from the date of the test.
In addition, we are currently recommending self-isolation for the rest of the first-team squad for 14 days from Wednesday, 7th October - ending, therefore, on 21st October - pending further advice from Public Health England.
In the meantime, anyone who has paid for live streaming on Alty TV will be refunded in full.
