Full update on how season ticket plans are taking shape

Co-chairman Bill Waterson has provided the following update on the distribution of season tickets.

There are only two weeks to go before the new Vanarama National League season gets underway, and the excitement felt by everyone connected with Altrincham FC is palpable.

Season tickets are selling at record volumes at the prospect of seeing Phil Parkinson’s Mighty Red Army plying our trade at Step One. In sorting out season tickets, Lawrence and I have both had the chance to speak with many fans about the forthcoming season, and it's fair to say the mood is mightily positive among the faithful.

The new-look season ticket cards are with the printers, and we expect them to be with the club next weekend and therefore distributed to those supporters who have ordered one early in the week of 28th September.

Obviously, there will be a lag of a couple of days for those tickets ordered this week, but our expectation is that they will be with you during next week.

We still have no guidance from the Government or the National League about how and when spectators will be admitted to The J. Davidson Stadium, and the situation is evolving daily; some days positively and some days less so.

The running of trial events in the Football League this weekend bodes well for us, and we will update you all once the outlook becomes clearer.

We’ve received a number of questions about seating for season ticket holders, and, in the absence of a final decision on guidelines, we have defined some rules as outlined below.

Our Covid planning does take out of circulation a number of seats in the main stand to allow for proper social distancing when entering or leaving that particular area, so it is entirely possible anyone renewing their season ticket may not be able to access the seat they are used to occupying at the beginning of the season. If that does apply to anyone, we apologise but trust you accept it is unavoidable in the current climate.

Our process will therefore be as follows:

Renewing season ticket holders will be given first option to choose seats, once availability under the Covid rules is finalised. New season ticket holders will then be able to select from the remaining seats. In this way, we will prioritise seat access to renewing and new season ticket holders. We do not know when we will be able to carry out this process, but we will do so as soon as we can.

We are actively exploring options as to how we can bring Alty TV to a wider audience, should we be forced to start behind closed doors, or if attendance is limited by Covid restrictions. In this case, any matches so broadcast will be made available to season ticket holders free of charge and will form a formal part of the season ticket package.

There are still a number of unknowns to navigate and obstacles to overcome, but we are doing all we can to start the season with all our fans able to watch the games, one way or another. We will issue further updates when possible, and I imagine these will be with increasing frequency in the coming days.

Bring on the Alty!
