Help wanted! Can you pitch in and join clean-up task force?

As Phil Parkinson puts the finishing touches to a promotion-seeking Altrincham squad for next season, the race is on to try and ensure there is a sparkle off the pitch as well as on it when the new campaign gets underway.

There's a list of jobs that need doing to make The J.Davidson Stadium a fitting venue for a Robins side resurgent since Parkinson arrived from Nantwich two years ago, and the club are hoping for a helping hand from supporters to make certain every last one is ticked off ahead of another Vanarama National League North programme.

Volunteers have been the lifeblood of Alty for longer than anyone can remember, and more are needed now to undertake important renovation work to all parts of the stadium.

Two dates have been set aside as ground improvement days - June 15th and June 29th - each one running from 10am to 4pm, and the club are hoping as many helpers as possible will come forward and volunteer their services to put the enhancement plan into action.

Duties will include washing down and cleaning seats, sweeping up, cleaning glass on the disabled shelters, weeding and general tidying and painting.

If you can't spare a whole day, can you manage an hour or two on either or both dates? Don't forget, when Alty boss Parkinson saluted the club's behind-the-scenes volunteers at the end of last season, and hailed them as unsung heroes, he was referring to the sort of people who answer calls like this.

So, if you can play a part in sprucing up the stadium and making it a suitable setting for a team with designs on promotion, please let the club know as soon as possible by emailing [email protected], phoning 0161 928 1045 or calling in to reception at the ground during normal office hours.

If there is sufficient interest, an additional date of July 6th may be arranged.
