Introducing new sponsors Catax - Alty through and through

Altrincham FC are delighted to announce a substantial new sponsorship agreement with locally-based but internationally-renowned company Catax.

The rapidly-expanding tax specialists are based a stone's throw from The J.Davidson Stadium but have offices as far afield as Vancouver and have added their name to the select list of partners so instrumental to the club's thriving fortunes.

Market leaders in their specialist field, their partnership with Alty promises to be high-profile after they agreed naming rights for the iconic Golf Road end, where support for the Robins is often at its loudest and most fervent.

As a result, the end often credited by manager Phil Parkinson with sucking the ball over the line for a dramatic, last-gasp Alty winner, will henceforth - or for this season, at least - be known as The Catax Golf Road.

Given the nature of Catax's success story, as an Altrincham concern spreading their wings and making their mark across the length and breadth of the country, they seemed a natural fit for a club following a similar path after winning promotion and stepping back up to the Vanarama National League a few months ago.

Catax, who specialise in helping organisations secure grants and tax relief for capital investments, welcomed the new tie-up and were particularly impressed with their highly-visible presence at The J.Davidson Stadium, first aired against Solihull Moors on Wednesday night.

'It was great to see our name across the top of the Golf Road roof like that, and I though the board looked fantastic,' said Catax group sales and marketing director Chris Stanley. 'The relationship already existed in a way, as one of the Altrincham directors and our chief executive officer know each other, but there were plenty of other reasons why it made sense to get involved.

'Catax has always been an Altrincham-based business. We started in King's Court, then moved premises to Goose Green, then on to where we are now, a stone's throw away from the ground, next to Stamford Park.

'Each time we have outgrown our office, we have looked for somewhere bigger, but we have never moved out of Altrincham. So it just felt right to support the club and sponsor it in this way.

'There's plenty of interest in football among the 100-plus staff here at head office, and it's probably no surprise there's always been a natural tendency towards the Premier League. In particular, Manchester United, which is a thread running through the company that's been driven by the CEO!

'But there is an underlying appreciation of the local team as well, such is the strength of our links with Altrincham after always being based here. You sense everyone wants to get behind the club and is happy that we now have this connection.

'We are fully aware we are not going to get millions of people seeing the board, but that's not really what it's about. It's more about a local business supporting a local club, and it's also the case there will be a lot of business owners in the Altrincham area who will see it or be made aware of it, so that could lead to the chance to support more local people with our services.

'We have grown exponentially over the years, and in the last 12 months, we have opened our first international office in Vancouver. It's great to see the football club also progressing so well, and a couple of our guys are going to the game against Aldershot tomorrow. Here's hoping it proves a happy and successful association.'

Altrincham co-chairman Bill Waterson commented: 'It's great to have a new major sponsor with such strong links to Altrincham. With a head office so nearby, they are truly local.

'And their services around securing capital allowances  and grant funding and tax relief on R&D (Research and Development) is not only of interest to the football club but also to local businesses in general.

'To have the iconic Golf Road end named the Catax Golf Road for this season will be all the more rewarding when it is fully populated once again, full of fans cheering on the Robins.'
