Altrincham director Bill Waterson writes:
Beat a path down Moss Lane on Saturday for a cornucopia of compelling cut-and-thrust, a feast of football at its finest, an extravaganza for the edification and enjoyment of every Altrincham aficionado.
In other words, it's Alty all the way (with a bit of England thrown in) at The J.Davidson Stadium this Saturday in a triple bill designed to keep Robins fans on the edge of their seats for the duration of a programme scheduled to run the best part of six hours.
The Vanarama National League North fixture with Leamington tops the bill, needless to say, as Phil Parkinson's side bid to extend their recent unbeaten home run by making it 10 points out of 12, but there's plenty more for Alty fans to savour in this not-to-be-missed sporting marathon.
Not least, another opportunity to marvel at the highly-acclaimed Altrincham FC Docu-series, a fascinating four-part behind-the-scenes insight into the Parkinson era that has been universally acknowledged as a riveting watch for all who follow Alty.
Shown in its entirety in the Community Sports Hall, starting at 1pm, it's the ideal way to launch the afternoon's agenda. All four episodes will be screened consecutively, with a brief interval halfway through, with the total running time being around 75 minutes.
A total of 65 people took advantage of last week's Premiere, but we know there are plenty more of you who have not yet had the chance to view it. Hence, Saturday' special matinee showing that we hope will attract many of you along, prior to the live action on the pitch.
Our sponsors, footyaccumulators.com, who made the documentary, have delayed the release on YouTube by a few days, and we will advise you when it will be available for viewing on the internet.
At 3pm, the focus switches to outdoors, as the Robins lock horns with Leamington for precious Vanarama National League North points, and this is followed by live coverage, back in in the Community Sports Hall, of England’s Euro 2020 qualifier at home to Bulgaria, kick-off 5pm.
So why not make it trebles all round, starting at lunchtime and going on well into the evening, as we focus on the recent past and present, from an Alty perspective, and the future prospects for Gareth Southgate's England?
See you in the Community Sports Hall from 1pm on Saturday.
