Match Preview | Halesowen Town v Altrincham

Email

Altrincham head to Halesowen Town in the third qualifying round of the FA Cup on Saturday  (12:30pm kick-off) & the BBC cameras will be on hand as the Robins look to edge one step closer to the first round proper of the competition against the eighth tier side.

The Robins beat Chester 1-0 in their second qualifying round replay after a 1-1 draw in the original tie, which was the last fixture they played after the league game against Gateshead was postponed last weekend, so Phil Parkinson's side have had plenty of rest ahead of the fixture.

BetVictor Southern Central Division side Halesowen have played three games to get to this point, the last of those a 4-1 victory over Stratford Town, who play in the league above, and they are third in their division, having won seven of their last eight games in all competitions.

The Yeltz won the FA Vase on two occasions in the 1980s and were within three points of promotion to the Conference in the 1995-1996 season, whilst they do have some FA Cup pedigree having previously managed to reach the first round proper of the competition.

This is only the third meeting between the clubs, who played each other in the Northern Premier League in 2017/18 season. Our only other visit to The Grove was in March 2018 when the Robins won 2-0 thanks to first half goals from Jordan Hulme and Simon Richman on the road to promotion.

There will be Halesowen's usual stewards along with a number of stewards from a local Premier League team, there will also be a Police presence on the day for fans protection. The stewards and police have the right to search anyone coming into the ground and reserve the right to eject or refuse entry to anyone who they feel has or will cause unsociable behaviour.

Bringing a pyrotechnic device into any arena in England is a Criminal Offence. Anyone entering the ground who is found to be in possession of, or indeed discharging any pyrotechnic will be ejected from the ground and could find themselves subject to prosecution. This could also have serious implications for both clubs.

The consumption of alcohol purchased within the ground is allowed to be taken on to the terracing and seating areas, this however must be in a plastic glass. No bottles or cans of alcoholic drink will be allowed to be taken on to the terracing and stand and no alcohol will be allowed to be brought into the ground as per FA rules.

The car park at the Grove is for players of both teams, officials and team coaches only, there is parking in town which is approximately 10 minutes’ walk from the ground and on road parking around the ground. Halesowen Town FC ask that you respect their neighbours if you park on residential streets and ensure you park legally as parking enforcement teams are usually in force on match days.
