Report: AFC Fylde 2 Altrincham 2

Email

Altrincham turned things around in the 2nd half to score twice in 3 minutes to galvanise a draw from a game that for an hour looked to be heading firmly in the home side's favour.

AFC Fylde produced an outstanding first half display & were good value for their 2 goal advantage, courtesy of Kurt Willoughby's 28th minute penalty & a quality 25 yard left foot shot from Nick Houghton 6 minutes later.

Junior Mondal rattled Tony Thompson's bar late in the half but after the break, the Robins showed great determination & resilience to draw level through Matt Kosylo's 22 yard shot that took a deflection & looped over the stranded Chris Neal in the Coasters' goal, before Max Clayton diverted Yusifu Ceesay's shot with a header that completely bamboozled the Fylde Number 1.

Phil Parkinson's team finished the stronger but a draw was ultimately a fair result.
