Midweek news from the Vanarama National League with Dan Connor

Dan Connor writes:

With no midweek fixtures and very little activity in the transfer market, it has been a quiet week across the Vanarama National League.

In fact, just two signings, along with a handful of departures, represents the sum total of the week's transfer activity.

Notts County announced that Tiernan Brooks will remain on loan at Worksop Town until the end of the season.

The young goalkeeper joined Town last month to bolster his match experience while continuing to train with Notts.

Grimsby Town have confirmed that a mutual agreement has been reached with striker Ira Jackson Jr to release him from his contract with the club.

Jackson Jr signed for the club in the summer of 2020 on an initial two-year deal from Folkestone Invicta after a prolific 2019/20 campaign, scoring 24 goals in 36 games in the Isthmian Premier League.

During his time at the Mariners, he made a total of 22 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals.

Following his departure, the 24-year-old joined fellow-National League side Wealdstone

Bromley midfielder Archie Burnett has temporarily left the club, joining Cray Wanderers on loan until 30th September.

The first-year pro, who was initially part of the Ravens’ under-15 and under-16 set-up, returned to the club in the summer after re-signing from Margate.

And King’s Lynn Town have completed the loan signing of Bristol Rovers' Zain Walker who joins the Linnets for a month.

The attacker, who typically plays on the left-wing but can play either side or centrally, made his Bristol Rovers debut at just 16, coming off the bench against Exeter City in the Leasing.Com Trophy in 2018.
