Message from Altrincham FC Co-Chairman Bill Waterson:

It's Torquay United next up for Altrincham at The J. Davidson Stadium tomorrow, and the club are delighted to announce that the matchday experience is at last returning to normal for our incredibly patient supporters.

Once the Government's Plan B is lifted on January 26th, the stadium will operate with a revised capacity of 5,300 and the restrictions that were in place against Wrexham and Stockport County will be lifted.

Furthermore, this increased figure will apply for the rest of the season, with all planned Phase One remedial works complete.

Over the festive period, we handled two of our biggest attendances in our recent history, and we are pleased to report that, with your help and support, the management of the ground and the spectator experience passed off without a hitch.

Your understanding and forbearance while we dealt with the challenges of staging no fewer than seven games affected by reduced capacities was immense and greatly appreciated by all concerned.

We needed time to put right the problems with the ground and also address issues with our stewarding procedures.

It created some difficulties for you all, with parts of the ground being closed, capacities limited and changes imposed to the overall matchday experience, including being required to purchase tickets in advance.

Well now all that has changed!  All parts of the stadium are open and you will be able to move around the ground during the game – from Pop Side to Golf Road and into the Community Sports Hall.

And, once again, fans will have the choice between buying an e-ticket or paying on the gate. Take your pick - you can go for either option, starting tomorrow against Torquay.

Our focus between now and the end of the season will be to build on the remediation work already done and work to improve the matchday experience still further for the rest of the season and beyond.

We are actively looking to complete the first phase of the Fan Zone in order to deliver long-needed facilities on the Popular Side of the ground. And we will look at further developments for that side of the stadium over the coming seasons.

There are still some repairs to be done on the Pop Side and to the external wall for the Golf Road.  These works need scheduling, but we do not believe any works undertaken will impact the matchday experience whilst in progress.

So, our stadium returns to normal - pay on the gate, all parts of the ground open for spectators and the ability to move around the ground restored. And, from the 26th onwards, the capacity up to 5,300.

We are delighted to be sharing this news with you and very much look forward to welcoming you all tomorrow - free of restrictions! Come down to the game and lift the roof.  We can’t wait to see you all.
