Open house at Alty this Thursday - and there’s so much to see!

Altrincham co-chairman Bill Waterson writes:

Saturday, September 4th is a date in everyone's diary, Altrincham's opening home game of the season and a first opportunity to see the players in action on Moss Lane's magnificent new pitch.

But Thursday, September 2nd is a date worth noting, too, after the club decided to throw open the doors of The J.Davidson Stadium and invite everyone in for a close-up of the new playing surface and so much more besides.

From 6pm to 8pm, the ground will be at your disposal, and a list of attractions has been lined up that the club hope will lure as many of you as possible along Moss Lane.

There will be a Pop-Up Store in the Manchester Glass Sponsors’ Lounge, where replica kit, training wear and a wide variety of gifts will all be on sale, along with matchday hospitality and the official Robins Review match programme for Saturday’s visit of Dover Athletic.

On top of that, there will be the opportunity to cast an eye over the refurbishment work that has transformed the Sponsors’ Lounge and to do it with a drink purchased from the lounge bar, which will be open throughout the two-hour slot.

In addition, the club will be showing off the first phase of the Fan Zone, still very much a work in progress, while the new Libero Pod will make its debut at The J.Davidson Stadium.

Last but not least, the club’s new major investment - the pitch - will be stretched out in all its lush, green glory, with the piece de resistance being the spectacle of Phil Parkinson’s first-team squad training on it for the first time from 7pm to 8pm.

The evening will end at 8pm, allowing the players to continue being put through their paces behind closed doors for a further hour in preparation for Saturday’s big event.

What an evening it promises to be, and there’s no need to book or reserve a place, either. Just turn up at Gate 4, to the right of the main entrance, and make your way in. A warm welcome awaits - look forward to seeing you all there!
