To the travelling fans, you played a blinder - thanks for being with us

TASC travel coordinator Mark Eckersall writes:

As another season ends, it's time to say thanks to all who supported the coaches this season once again. Whichever way you travelled to games over the last nine months, you've played your part in supporting the team to achieve some great results on the road.

The management and players have shown their appreciation on numerous occasions, and we have had some great trips.

Whilst we may have fallen a little short at Chorley, the players could not have given us any more, and this has been reflected in one of the most positive reactions to an Alty defeat I have seen in my time watching.

To take 1,200 fans to Chorley was an incredible scene.  I've always been in awe of the way ex-Football League clubs like Stockport County and Wrexham produce huge numbers of travelling fans. When you work on percentage of home supporters, then on Sunday we matched them.

My thanks go to John Laidlar and Simon Ellis for their help on the day with the 100 passengers on the coaches. There was a great family atmosphere on both coaches, which was our aim.

We hope that some of you will join us again next year for more of the same.  The more regular travellers we have, the lower the prices will be, as our only aim is to break even across the season. We go again in August.

Enjoy your summer.
