Two newcomers bolster injury-hit Robins

Phil Parkinson has moved to bolster his squad by signing forward Joe Thompson and full-back Ross Woodcock today. Given the number of absentees through various ailments and suspension, the duo have joined after impressing during recent trials with the club.

Thompson is an 18-year-old forward who possesses good movement and deceptively good pace. He will add competition to places and provide a different option in attack.

Woodcock (as pictured) was released from Crewe Alexandra in the summer after coming through the youth ranks at the club. The Scot turns 20 years-old later this month and provides another option in a key area of the team that has suffered injuries on both flanks so far this season.

The news comes as Lloyd Bannister was allowed to join Atherton Collieries and Bay Downing departed for Salisbury late last week – both on dual registration terms. Cal Harris joined the club late last week after a successful spell training with the first team.

Everybody at the club welcomes the trio to The J.Davidson Stadium.
