Sean Williams has joined Warrington Town for a month on loan as the midfielder, who joined Alty from The Yellows in 2018, looks to secure regular football.
With competition for a place in the Altrincham squad as fierce as it has ever been, the 29-year-old has found himself without a competitive appearance for the Robins so far this season. The opportunity for him to link up with the Northern Premier League side presents a great chance for Sean.
Last season, Sean made 14 appearances for the Robins but with the arrival of Ben Pringle and Dean Furman, his opportunities have been restricted at the J. Davidson Stadium.
In his last spell at Cantilever Park, Williams’ form in front of goal played a big role in the side qualifying for the 2017/18 play-offs, finding the back of the net 15 times, and the hope for manager Paul Carden will be that he can mirror this form and help Warrington maintain their strong promotion push this season.
Despite good form in the league, Warrington will be looking to get back to winning ways after a 3-0 defeat to Marine in the Second Qualifying Round of the FA Cup, with a brace from Neil Kengni Kuemo, and a solo effort from Owen Watkinson doing the damage.
He will be linking up with former Alty players Josh Amis and Adam Carden, who both had spells at the J. Davidson Stadium. Sean could be in line to start for Warrington this afternoon in their NPL away tie against South Shields.
A hugely popular figure with team-mates and fans alike, everyone at Altrincham Football Club would like to wish Sean the very best during his loan period.
